The Operating Platform of Sonship – Disruption

sonship

Jesus had started his teaching of “repentance” and “kingdom” in the midst of the people. It wasn’t long until a great recognition of what he was teaching and, more importantly, demonstrating spread throughout the land. The people were amazed at his words. Wasn’t he just a simple Galilean, carpenter’s son? Ha!
But, what truly was astonishing was the works he performed! Miracles, signs and wonders. The people gathered around him wherever he went with their needs being met. He touted that all of this was simply a revelation of their Heavenly Father.
With this type of attention, Jesus began to throw a kink into the current religious operating platform of the day. And, to put it lightly, it wasn’t well received by those who maintained the system and order of the day.
Jesus was constantly challenged by religious leaders during his walk on the earth. Because of his operating platform, many leaders of the law accused Jesus of blasphemy. They called him a fake, heretic, liar, and even demon possessed! Jesus constantly had to defend his function against the scribes and Pharisees.
On one occasion they interrogated him, “By what power of authority are You doing these things, and who gave You this power of authority?” The words used here imply “a sense of ability” and the “power of choice or liberty of doing as one pleases.” So, in essence, the question was, “Who gave you the ability and the freedom to do what you are doing?”
The existing religious order of the day knew that they had not given him the ability or the freedom to do so. They were offended. They were perplexed because they knew that the works he performed, no man could do unless he came from God. (See John 3 and Nicodemus) Their system was suffering a disruption. And, quite frankly, wanted to get to the bottom of it because their positions of influence were being threatened.
Jesus knew that this disruption of the current religious operating platform was wrapped up in the purpose of his being in the earth. He taught the multitudes and his disciples that, “The scribes and Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat [of authority]. So observe and practice all they tell you; but do not do what they do, for they preach, but do not practice.” (Matthew 23:2-3, AMP)
This glitch in the current operating platform resulted in a plethora of errors. A major error was that the scribes and Pharisees shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces; for they would not enter, nor did they allow those who are about to go in, actually go in. (vs. 13)
From the beginning, Jesus clearly explained that he had not come to away with or undo the Law or the Prophets; but that he had, instead, come to complete and fulfill them. That function (fulfilling) was not installed and/or available in the existing operating platform of the religion order or leaders. “For I tell you, unless your righteousness (your uprightness and your right standing with God) is more than that of the scribes and Pharisees,” Jesus continued, ” you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5)
Remember, (Hebrews 1:1) God had spoken in the past through the law and prophets but, now, He is speaking in a language foreign to the religious leaders. That language is the language of Son.
There is just a more dynamic capability in the language, which has written the operating platform of Sonship, than in the limitation found in the language of the law and prophets, which wrote the code for the Moses operating platform.
Even though Moses was faithful in the house of God, Jesus was found faithful also. The difference in the two, is that Moses was found faithful as a servant, while Jesus was found faithful as a Son. (read Hebrews 3)
The distinction between these two operating platforms, servant vs. sonship, is monumental and spiritually staggering.
The old operating platform of religion requires a servant to work, labor and strive in attempts to get to God.
In the Operating Platform of Sonship, a son originates out of God and is empowered by God in the Spirit of Sonship to do those things that please Him.
This function is what offended the religious leaders, blessed the people and glorified the Father. By design, it caused a disruption in the old operating platform and upgraded what God would do in the earth and impact all of eternity!
